- Maximize what you carry on: almost all airlines charge a baggage fee now, so take advantage of carry-ons if you can. Bringing your own snacks on planes and entertainment will save you from expensive airline movies and food as well.
- Plan ahead for food: eating out at restaurants every day (especially for the whole family) can really add up quickly. Vacation in places where you have access to a kitchen and can make your own food.
- Go with friends or family: booking a multi-family vacation will help split the costs of getting a bigger spot for less money. You can split the cost of a full cottage with another family and then you’ll have a kitchen, etc.
